I know what it is like to look at something new and think, is this actually legit or is it just a trend?

I thought that too, once. And I have been a nurse for a long time, so I do not take things at face value. I need to understand why something works before I am going to recommend it to anyone.

So let me just be straight with you, the way I would with a friend.

WHY DOES IV THERAPY ACTUALLY WORK

When you take a supplement or a vitamin tablet, it goes through your whole digestive system before your body can use it. How much actually gets absorbed depends on a lot of things — your gut health, your stress levels, whether you have had food, how much inflammation you have. It can be anywhere from 20 to 50 percent. Sometimes less.

When you have an IV drip, it goes straight into your bloodstream. Your body gets it immediately, and it gets pretty much all of it. That is why people feel it so much faster and more clearly than they do with tablets or powders.

It is not complicated. It is just a more direct way of giving your body what it needs.

WHO IS IT ACTUALLY GOOD FOR

Honestly, I see it help so many different kinds of people.

People who have been feeling run down for ages and cannot work out why. People who are training hard and not recovering the way they want to. Busy mums who are completely depleted and have not had a moment to themselves in months. People who are about to get sick or are just recovering. People who just want to feel better and are done waiting around for that to happen on its own.

WHAT IT IS NOT

I want to be honest about this because I think it matters.

IV therapy is not a cure for everything. It is not going to fix things that need a lifestyle change. And it is not something I would recommend just for the sake of it. If you come to me and I do not think it is right for where you are, I will tell you that.

Every treatment I do is prescribed by a registered doctor and I am a registered nurse. The safety side of this is not negotiable for me, it is the whole point.

WHAT TO DO TO PREPARE

Eat something light before. Ensure you are hydrated. Wear a top with sleeves you can roll up. That is genuinely it.
