Care guide

Before & after
your treatment.

Everything you need to know to prepare well, feel comfortable, and get the most from your strIVe experience.

Eat beforehand
Have a light meal one to two hours before your appointment. Arriving on an empty stomach can make you feel lightheaded during the infusion. Nothing heavy — something simple and nourishing is ideal.
Hydrate well
Drink plenty of water before your session. Being well hydrated makes your veins easier to access, which means the cannula goes in more comfortably and the infusion flows more efficiently.
Wear comfortable clothing
Wear loose fitting clothing with sleeves that can be easily rolled up above the elbow. You will be sitting or lying back for the duration so comfort matters.
Avoid alcohol
Please avoid alcohol for at least a few hours before your appointment. Alcohol dehydrates the body and can affect how you respond to the infusion.
Complete your forms
Make sure your health intake form and consent form are completed before your nurse arrives. This allows your appointment to start on time and your nurse to be fully prepared for your session.
New clients — download Yooli
If this is your first appointment, please download the Yooli app before your nurse arrives. You will need it for the mandatory three-way video call with your nurse and our partner doctor at the start of your session. Download Yooli here.
Let us know about any changes
If your health has changed since you completed your intake form — new medications, a recent illness, or any new symptoms — please let your nurse know before the infusion begins.
Have a question before you arrive? We are happy to help. Reach out before your appointment and we will make sure you feel completely prepared.
Refreshed and energised
Many clients feel refreshed, energised, and clear-headed after their session. This is completely normal and is your body responding well to the treatment.
Deeply relaxed or tired
Some clients feel deeply relaxed and prefer to rest after their session. This is also completely normal. Both responses are valid — there is no right or wrong way to feel after an infusion.
Stay hydrated
Keep drinking water throughout the day. IV therapy supports cellular hydration but staying hydrated helps maintain the effect and supports your body's recovery.
Eat light and nourishing meals
Avoid anything overly heavy or processed in the hours following your session. Light, nourishing meals support your body as it absorbs the treatment.
Rest if needed
Listen to your body. If you feel like resting, rest. Most clients can resume normal activities immediately but some prefer to take it easy for a few hours.
Avoid strenuous exercise
Please avoid intense physical activity for at least two to four hours after your infusion. Light movement is fine but give your body time to absorb and benefit from the treatment first.
Avoid alcohol
Please avoid alcohol for at least a few hours after your session. Your body has just received a therapeutic infusion and alcohol works against what you have just done.
Small bruise at the insertion site
A small bruise is common and will resolve on its own within a few days. This is a normal response to the cannula insertion.
Mild tenderness or redness
Some mild tenderness or redness at the insertion site is normal and should resolve within 24 to 48 hours.
Feeling relaxed or sleepy
Some clients feel a wave of deep relaxation during or after their session. This is your body responding to the treatment and is completely normal.
Seek medical advice if you experience
Persistent pain or swelling at the insertion site
Shortness of breath
Chest discomfort
Fever or chills
A rash or signs of an allergic reaction
